Nextech receives ONC-ACB Certification for Stage 2 Meaningful Use and provides customer support for attestation Blog Feature

Nextech has been committed to supporting our clients through the challenges of attesting for Meaningful Use Stage 1, and we’re now prepared and dedicated to assist with Stage 2. We have been hard at work to ensure that our solutions, including Nextech with NexERx version 11.0, Nextech with NewCropRx 11.0, Nextech 11.1, and Nextech 11.2, are compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria, and we’re pleased to announce that they have been certified as Modular EHRs by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®).

For the past 17 years, Nextech has been the leader in technology for specialty practices and has supported more than 7,000 surgeons and physicians and more than 40,000 staff members. Our clients trust us to provide technology that increases the efficiency of their practices and allows them to stay in regulatory compliance.

As many in the industry have noted, one of key issues with Stage 1 was that the requirements were mainly focused on primary care, with little support or thought given to the needs of specialty practices. Even the American Medical Association (AMA) weighed in at one point, suggesting that there be a full evaluation of past stages in order to provide more flexibility for these providers. An additional struggle that specialty practices faced in Stage 1 was that many were unaware of which exemptions they were qualified for. With CMS simplifying the exemption process for specialty providers in Stage 2 and the ONC-ACB certification achieved by our systems, eligible providers will have greater ability to navigate through key changes associated with Stage 2 and more easily identify exemptions for which practices may qualify.

Nextech receives ONC-ACB Certification for Stage 2 meaningful use

We are committed to not only providing EMR and practice management tools that are compliant, but also directly supporting our clients in the attestation process for Stage 2. To date, Nextech has helped more than 400 practices qualify for meaningful use incentives, and with Stage 2 deadlines approaching, we will continue to assist practices that wish to take advantage of this program. Nextech’s meaningful use experts will be providing guidance on meeting core and menu objectives as well as helping our clients understand where they have reporting flexibility for their specialty.
