Protect Your Practice
The EMV (Europay, MasterCard®, and Visa®) shift, commonly referred to as the “Chip and PIN liability shift,” was an industry-wide compliance event that centered on protection against fraudulent in-person credit and debit card transactions. As of October 1, 2015, the liability of fraudulent transactions of EMV cards shifted to whichever party, either the seller or the card provider, shown to be the least EMV compliant. This means that healthcare practices who are not EMV compliant may find themselves financially responsible for any fraudulent credit or debit card transactions.
Through our partnerships, Nextech is helping specialty physicians navigate through EMV compliance by providing an integrated payment solution.
