Nextech Announces Compliance and Usability Upgrades within its 11.5 Software
Tampa, Florida – December 9, 2014 - Nextech, the leading provider of specialty-focused healthcare technology solutions for physician practices, today announced the release of its newest software, version 11.5. New features include a highly anticipated Room Manager innovation to the Nextech iPad® application, new functionality to expedite the follow-up process with tracking claims, enhanced search functions for ICD-10 codes and simplified meaningful use reporting features.
In response to customer demand, Room Manager capabilities have been added to Nextech’s EMR iPad app, allowing providers to proactively monitor which patients are assigned to exam rooms, and length of wait times. Providers are also able to individualize the rooms they are tracking with a mobile “my rooms” feature. Adding the Room Manager function to Nextech’s mobile products allows providers to manage their patients throughout the office in real time, in any location, rather than having to return to their computer in between appointments.
Additionally, Nextech’s 11.5 software builds off of the intuitive ICD-10 upgrades initially found in its version 11.3 release. Nextech’s ICD-10 solution now contains the most robust tools for updating ICD-9 content to ICD-10, such as a pre-populated list of potential ICD-10 code matches and the ability for users to set up “keywords” in their items to enhance searches. Specialty practices will also be able to set up ICD-10 codes as actions within personalized EMR templates, which streamlines workflow and ensures the smoothest transition possible.
“Our latest 11.5 software release serves to further our commitment to innovation and the unique needs of specialty practices, including new tools to improve the practice workflow and the patient experience,” says Christina Majeed, chief product officer of Nextech. “Our focus on consistent innovation in all product areas is represented through enhanced mobile iPad offerings and simplifying the transition to ICD-10 for our specialty physician clients.”
One of the first specialty-specific solutions to be certified for meaningful use in 2014 as a Complete EHR by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), Nextech continued its commitment to helping its customers attest to meaningful use by providing upgrades to the system. Enhancements within 11.5 enable providers to automatically merge a clinical summary into the patient record and post the summary to the patient portal at the moment their signature is inserted.
The 11.5 software also offers robust billing updates, including lockbox electronic payment posting, as well as billing status and follow-up features to help practices better manage accounts receivable. Billers are now able to consolidate insurance claims by rejection reason to efficiently follow up with one inquiry, rather than making numerous follow up calls to insurance companies, increasing productivity and reducing denials.
