Hello and welcome to our video blog, aimed to help your practice with anything from electronic medical records to revenue management.
Many practices are making the switch from ICD-9 to ICD-10, and if your practice is one of them, it's important to know how to prepare for the transition.
First, know exactly what's changing. For instance, ICD-9 codes were typically 3-5 digits, but ICD-10 codes contain 3-7 characters - usually a combination of letters and numbers.
Put a team or project coordinator in charge of your practice to help lead the switch to ICD-10. This person or group will ensure everyone is up to date on exactly what changes are being put in place and why.
Stay tuned for more ways your practice can prepare for ICD-10.
